• If the car is somewhat damaged, it might blow up; run like ass away from the car and as fast as possible.
• Once you are clear, check to see (from a distance or from your cellphone) if your friends are still in the car.
• Make guy admit it was his fault that he was turning without checking his blindspot.
• Wait for paramedics.
• Joke with paramedics.
• Cry.
• Take photos of car and damaged parts.
• Go home.

• Remain calm
• Don’t’ claim fault (even if it’s your fault)
• Exchange insurance information, DL
• Get license plate number and make/model of car
• Take a picture of the DL in case with your phone camera
• Call your insurance company (that may differ b/t US and Canada

• Pout and look very sad so witnesses come and help (this works best while wearing a dress)
• Ask Twitterworld for who’s fault advice
• Go hang out with Sima and engage in fry burglary and  frozen yogurt consumption

And as I try to not play victim, or participate in the blame game where by its very nature no one wins, I cannot help but feel that my heart is so weak from all the heartache. The “Eckhart Tolle” knowledge I’ve internalized tells me that what I feel has nothing to do with the catalyst, as no one can make you feel anything….this is true. I understand that at the root of my pain, there are  insecurities of being abandoned, unanswered  daddy issues and lastly, a  lost sense of hope.

Last night I was wearing this beautiful, vibrant vintage dress. Accessorized by romantic Parisian- style gold and onyx jewelery.  I looked at myself in the mirror as my eyes were swollen, mascara smeared…and asked… with all the most beautiful dresses and charms in the world… but what does it matter when your heart feels so alone?

This too shall pass, and today I set out to heal and mend. Surround myself with loving energy, flowers, and things that make me smile.

While most of us have been taught the basics of social graces and etiquette starting in Kindergarten, with this rapid emergence of  the cyber world, there is a whole new set of ways to conduct oneself online. Here is my take on it:

LinkedIn, Twitter, Myspace and Facebook are different communities that serve different purposes. The first is a handy professional tool – where it is okay to add colleagues, work acquaintances and others you may not know very personally, but are in similar industries. With that, transferring credibility from your connection to their “link” should not be automatic.

Twitter is a great branding tool and an excellent method of exchanging information, links, and dialogue in both the professional and personal realm.

Facebook, on the other hand, while many use it as a promotional tool, (as I do as well to an extent), is a lot more personal. While LinkedIn may be comparable to the attendees of a networking event held by The Small Business bureau, Facebook is my birthday party where my inner circle are the guests.   That being said, here are my thoughts on social etiquette in the Facebook world:

• Do not peruse my friends list and request ads to further your dating black book or social furthering purposes. If you do find someone’s avatar on my page that you find appealing, it is polite to ask for an introduction or give a head’s up.

• Do not tag me on all of your forwards, thoughts du jour and daily epiphanies. Quality not quantity.

• Do not promote your party (both DJ party or political for that matter), product or service on my wall.

• When you are creating a message thread – your reply will go to each person on that thread. Therefore, if you are exchanging communication that is not of value to the entire thread list, send a private message instead. I do not care that you said “Thanks for the invite” and neither do the other 10 people on the list. “Reply-all-itis” applies to emails as well – before you press send, ask if the information in your message will provide value to the recipient.

• If I have never accepted one of your party invites, I likely won’t start now. Whether your party is “Throw Down Tuesdays” or “Sexy Back Saturdays”, target your audience accordingly instead of spamming ‘ALL’.

• Don’t be offended if I erase your wall post or comment. I like to keep a clean wall, that’s all.

• If I don’t know you very well, or at all for that matter, attach a message to your friend request.

• Just because I accepted your friend request, DOES NOT mean I want to be online chatting with you any time you please. Unfortunately, FB doesn’t allow you to select which friends are on your chat list yet. If my response does not consist of more than the vocabulary of  “yup”, “good”, “cool” (especially during office hours), then I likely am not at a stage of Facebook chatting with you yet (or ever). Friendship grows and flows organically!

• Do not get my email off of my info page and start spamming me.

• When your status is a constant sales message / pitch – people will either delete you., or hide your status from showing up.

• If you’ve requested I become a “Fan” of your page 7 times, it means I have rejected the invite 7 times. Permission marketing is about your audience opting in – and trying to shove your product/service/brand down their throat defeats the entire purpose. Please read some Seth Godin.
